PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, here’s your chance.

The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is offering lessons this weekend as part of the Festival of Water.

“Big Wave Dave” of BeADiver.com says scuba isn’t as hard as it seems.

“But you really can learn how to dive in two weekends,” he said. “Class in full one weekend and the next your open water training dives.”

The lesson at the zoo this weekend is free.

Dozens line up to try it out on Day 1. Lessons were quickly learned.

“Just going under and thinking about breathing,” Kyle Shreckengost, of Lower Burrell, said. “You have to think about it before you do it.”

You’ll have your shot at scuba diving all weekend long. The Festival of Water continues through Sunday at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
