SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A 9-year-old boy was seriously injured in a Westmoreland County accident Saturday afternoon.

According to State Police, the accident happened on Skyline Drive in South Huntingdon Township around 12:30 p.m.

Joseph Leighliter, 9, was attempting to cross Skyline Drive under State Route 70, when he crashed into the side of an oncoming vehicle.

Leighliter was transported to Children’s Hospital, but his condition is not known.

There were no other reported injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
