LATROBE (KDKA) — It’s back to work for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Several players showed up at the team’s headquarters on the South Side on Tuesday.
Meantime, final preparations are under way at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe for training camp.
As the lockout dragged on, it looked like the season and training camp were in doubt.
“Well you know we are all optimists here and we approached this project in a very positive way and we decided we’re going to do everything we can do to make it happen,” Don Orlando, director of public relations, for Saint Vincent College. “We never lost our confidence.”
Preparations began weeks ago and now all that’s missing are the Steelers themselves.
This is the 46th year for the college hosting camp and the bond goes beyond football.
“Between the players and the staff, the monks of the Benedictine community and the Rooney family and so those are really all treasured relationships and it goes much deeper than just a training camp on a college campus,” Orlando said.
