State Police: Man Shot, Killed As Officials Try To Serve Warrants
GREENVILLE (KDKA) -- State police in Mercer County say a man was shot and killed Tuesday evening while authorities tried to serve an arrest warrant and search warrant at a home.
According to state police, authorities with the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team tried to serve 30-year-old Jeffrey Anderson with an arrest warrant around 7:45 p.m. on College Avenue in Greenville Borough.
Investigators say the warrants were related to recent armed robberies in the area.
State police report that Anderson "failed to obey police commands and attempted at one point to back over officers with his car," which prompted officers to fire their weapons.
Anderson was hit by at least one round and died from his injuries, state police said.
State police continue to investigate the shooting.
