Pitt Adding Quarterback From Houston

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pitt coach Todd Graham is getting a quarterback from his old recruiting territory.

Pearland's (Tx) Trey Anderson will attend as a preferred walk-on, who could earn a scholarship with the Panthers.

Anderson (6-0, 185 lbs.) was planning on attending Tyler Junior College until he received a call from Pitt quarterback coach Todd Dodge.

According to Anderson, Dodge told him that "they really needed a quarterback."

Anderson says he plans to redshirt this season.

Anderson threw for 2,898 yards and 24 touchdowns this past season, both single-season Pearland High School records. He also finished his career with 4,654 yards passing, establishing another Oiler mark.

In addition, Anderson threw just three interceptions in 16 games in 2010.
