Slow-Moving Front Could Bring Round Of Storms

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- After the scattered strong storms of last evening, we are bracing for round two today.

A slow-moving cool front is approaching the area today, and in advance of it, a scattering of thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon.

KDKA meteorologist Dennis Bowman says some of these storms will contain damaging winds and very heavy rain.

The key time period for active weather will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with storms holding off until late this evening in our southern counties.

In the very muggy atmosphere we're dealing with, Bowman says that temperatures will rise to about 90 degrees across the area, dropping to about 68 tonight as the storms end.

The weekend will be warm with highs in the upper 80s both days. However, the humidity will be easing down for Saturday and Sunday, making both days a bit more comfortable.
