ELLWOOD CITY (KDKA) — Storms pummeled parts of the area with high winds, heavy rain and lightning.

In Lawrence County, Ellwood City Power and Light crews went from one neighborhood to another fixing utility poles and downed power lines.

Kylie Coccia, of Ellwood City, told KDKA-TV tonight’s storms packed a one-two punch.

Another woman said she was forced to wait at work for an extra half hour because she couldn’t make it to her car during the rainstorm.

There were reports of minor street and basement flooding.

Allegheny Power says 4,000 customers in Westmoreland and Armstrong counties are without power.

Duquesne Light reported minor outages in Allegheny County.

There were reports of lightning strikes at two homes in Mars and Seven Fields. There were no serious injuries.
