NEW CASTLE (KDKA) — State police are investigating a shooting and attempted homicide in Lawrence County over the weekend.

It happened just before 5 p.m. Sunday as two men — aged 48 and 27 — were walking along Hollow Road in Wayne Township.

According to authorities, several suspects in three different vehicles approached the victims. At one point, one of the suspects fired at both victims.

Three other suspects then threw the older man to the ground and began kicking and punching him before robbing him. He was treated for a concussion at Jameson Hospital.

The 27-year-old man managed to get away without any injuries.

Police say criminal charges are pending; but so far, no arrests have been made.
