Police Investigate Body Found In Carrick
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered inside of a van Tuesday afternoon in Carrick.
According to emergency officials, the van was parked in the 2600-block of Brownsville Road.
Police were called when someone noticed the van had been in the same place all night.
Initially, it appeared that heat was a factor in the man's death. However, police now believe something else was involved.
"It was about 1:30, 2 o'clock, I saw him. I knocked on the window, he moved around and looked like he was intoxicated so I just let him go. I took his key out for him so the battery wasn't dead, put in the gas cap. I woke up this morning and came down and he was still there, so that's when I called the police," Mike Westell said.
The man has been identified as 37-year-old Alexander Bennett.
The cause of death is not known at this time.
