WEST END (KDKA) – One person was killed in an early Sunday morning accident in the West End.

According to police, the accident happened on West Carson Street around 6 a.m.

The male driver struck a utility pole near the intersection of West Carson and Edgecliff Streets and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a female passenger survived the crash. It is unknown if she was injured at this time.

The identities of both people have not been released.
