Teenager Tumbles Down Hillside On North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A girl was rushed to the hospital after she fell over a hillside on the North Side.

KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports the teenage girl was riding her bike near the Fowler Pool off Charles Street.

At the time, it was raining and the road was wet. Near the corner of Kenwood Avenue and Wilson Avenue, she apparently couldn't stop. She was thrown off her bicycle and tumbled down a hillside about 20 feet.

Several people heard her calling for help. Some trees blocked her from falling even further down the hillside.

"Her ankle was twisted up pretty bad and she had major lacerations on her face and on her legs too, her arms – it was just really bad," Jordan Morris, a witness, said.

She was taken to the emergency room at Allegheny General Hospital.

Information about her condition has not been released, but witnesses say the girl was conscious and talking when paramedics picked her up at the scene.
