No Contract Talks For Now

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Contract extensions for a trio of Steeler players will be put on hold for the time being.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers want to focus on possible free agents signings before talking with free agents to be Troy Polamalu, Lawrence Timmons and Mike Wallace.

The team is looking to add depth to the wide receiver and tight end position.

Free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery was at Steeler camp last night and will meet with the front office again this morning.

The Baltimore Ravens also are in the hunt for the veteran wide receiver.

Cotchery has played all eight NFL seasons with the NY Jets, catching 358 passes for 4,514 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Dulac also reports that the team has interest in veteran tight end Reggie Kelly.

Once the Steelers add another free agent or two, they'll then turn their attention to signing Timmons, Polamalu and Wallace to new deals.
