    Union crybabies, nothing more.

    Disband all unions!!

    1. Harley says:

Right on A. Bunker. Union proud means they show up late at will, call off on occassion because they can, talk all day about nothing instead of working, get workmans comp for a hangnail. If they keep yapping and complaining about their jobs Verizon execs will move the company to India or China. These lazy bums are not middle class they are poor people fronting and calling it middle class.

      1. malady says:

your comment is despicable ,what kind of a person are u?ignoramus

      2. JP says:

Malady, he’s probably a bitter management rif. I find his comments comical, as it shows his complete lack of intelligence, much like Don down below, and Bunker above.

      3. Not Here says:

Harley you are on point Verizon union employees talk a good game but they are poor people living a life they cannot afford for the sake of being called middle class. Instead of picketing the company they should re-shape their finances before Christmas instead of trying to make the company foot the bill. That huge woman smoking the cigarette doesn’t look like she is serious about anything, she is just along for the ride for a free day off with pay.

      4. Gene says:

I hear ya my union co worker told us she had the measles and could not come in. Two days later she was cured and showed us in sloppy pajamas for work as a cashier, no one said a thing because she belongs to the Union. I thought they erradicated the measles in the 50’s, I am new so could not contest her illness. As soon as she comes in for work she pays her bills on line, takes personal phone calls and hours later she is ready to wait on people.

      5. tim says:

wow , you are a idot. you should reread what you type before taking a drink and hitting send

      6. Anonymous says:

The compnay (Verizon) wishes to reduce our yearly compensation with regard to benefits and pay by as much as $20,000 a year when the average employee makes $50,000 to $60,000 a year! Why shouid they, when they made 10″s of billions of dollars over the last 3 years! Goodbye middle-class! Get your facts straight before you make a comment next time.

    2. tim says:

the funny thing is all we want is to keep what we have and maybe some job security. the difference between union and not union is we can say no and do things like strike. if their was no union they would take it or just get rid of you

      1. Steve says:

Do a good job and get paid what your job is worth. Companies (rarely) get rid of you if you bring value to the position. If you need a union to get your pay, then you’re asking for more than what the job is worth.

    3. VerizonSuperTech says:

Hey A.Bunker let me guess what the A stands for.

  2. Common Sense says:

Stay strong verizon workers. A. Bunker may not support you but lots of us do.

    1. Michelle says:

Yeah stay strong Verizon workers so your jobs can be terminated and switched to another country. Fight the good fight lazy union employees who do nothing but take up space and slack on company time. And it is all legal because you know that you cant be touched because you are Union. I work with a ‘Union’ employee every Tuesday & Wednesday she has the night crew clock her in because she can’t get up early because she parties all night, two to three hours later she shows up eates breakfast and starts doing her job, then has the nerve to critique me, and yes she has vacation time coming too. Please.

      1. Brandon says:

Please dont take one example of your experience with a union employee and stereotype every union member. I’m a member of the union who went 2.5 years before I used my first sick day. I guess I’m lazy too, right?

      2. daryle says:

Michelle it must be rough on you working at the doughnut shop or what ever it is you do for a living. When you see a verizon truck out in 100+ temperatures or in cold weather think of me working outside making sure you can enjoy your doughnut with your morning coffee and watching tv or chatting on the phone exchanging doughnut recipies with the other slugs you work with…

  3. Mathew says:

    Whos your daddy Critter?

    1. Lukas says:

      critters father is Anthony Sowell

  4. Lukas says:

I hope you are not involved in it critter.

  5. Don says:

These employees enjoy an avg. salary of $75,000 PLUS another $50,000 in benefits and free health care….and they’re upset, because their employer wants them to start paying a fair share???? Oh, Boo Hoo !!!!!

    1. tim says:

whats a fair share ? i work a average of 50 hours a week . i work outside when its 99 down to 0 . i go places you probably can’t fit. in houses that would make most people sick . you have no clue whats involved so get educated , do some research before making a dumb statements. also i dont make a start at 75k

    2. Gary says:

Don, think! Let me tell you, I pert near double my base salary every year because of the huge amounts of overtime the company insists on working. And I do this all the while I am away from my family. Out on the road 26 days every month. Out on the road sport…It’s pretty much 7×12’s or more per day. Company will say its not mandatory, but let them explain what will happen when their unrealistic project due dates are not met. I missed my children growing up for this company. now they want to treat me like I’m some gutter schmuck? I suggest you get better informed, stop spoating off like your jealous of what we have. You want more, Organise. Until then You have no right to make your childish remarks until you’ve at least walked a mile or two in my shoes.

      1. Steve says:

You’d kick and scream if they opted to hire another person and take away your OT. Who do you think you’re kidding?!?!

  6. JP says:

Not sure where Don got HIS info, but no Verizon associate/union employee receives a salary of 75K

    1. Not Here says:

There ae a lot of people who brag or lie about how much money they make to make themselves look important. My co-worker brags about taking a lot of vactions to a lot of places, this time she is taking her family. Well we were at the grocery store and when it came time to pay her bill she pulled out a foodstamp card to pay and was not ashamed to swipe it. What a bum.
Some Veriaon emplyees drive nice cars and talk a good game but they waste a lot of money on nothing and now they want the company to feel sorry for them and foot the bill for Christmas. I hope the CEO’s stick to their guns.
The huge woman with the cigarette looks happy and content to me.

      1. CWA 13500 says:

That lady is part of management. I know her personally and works on my floor, which is why you don’t see her holding a sign or wearing a red shirt. So look here you no-benefit-having, bitter, $9/hour puppet……get your facts strauight before you put people down and then get your statements WRONG on top of it.

    2. JSTEELE says:

Im so glad JP can only say something against the amount they make….what about their free benefits its 2011 and there all a milliion people out there without benefits who would gladly pay stop taking advantage of your career well i shouldnt call it that…quit taking advantage of your sham and the american people who are working twice as hard and paying health benefits. Free health benefits are for steel workers coal miners…in an atmosphere where you breathe in harsh chemicals all day. not for people sitting all day talking on the phone.

      1. MLADY says:

liLsten all u idiots who are making stupid false STATEMENTS GET YOUR FACTS FIRST. FIRST OF ALL ANY EMPLOYEE WHO U CLAIM FALLS ASLEEP( AS U CLAIM )WHICH IS STUPID AND A LAUGH ) .IT IS MANAGEMENT WHO IS NOT DOING THERE JOB, IF THAT HAPPENS.(SO SHAME ON THEM)) YOU ALL SOUND SO STUPID .IT IS A LAUGH SOME OF THESE PEOPLE AS U CALL THEM ( MY HUSBAND FOR 1 WORKED 45 YEARS 1ST CLIMBING POLES’ GOING INTO HOMES ,PUTING IN PHONES,,MANY TIMES THREATEN.NOT BEING ABLE TO ENJOY HIS RETIREMENT BECAUSE HE PASSED AWAY(. YOU ALL OUGHT TO BE .. ARRESTED FOR THE WAY U TALK

      2. MALADY says:

OH BOY I WAS WAITING FOR U TO RESPOND…..MR JSTEELE U ARE PROBABLY ANOTHER THAT DOES NOT KNOW FACTS LET ME INFORM U A FEW THINGS. WIRELINES ARE NO LONGER PROFITABLE. THE PROFITS ARE FROM WIRELESS SIDE OF THE BUSINESS. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF VERIZON UNION WORKERS THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS CHANGE THERE SERVICE FROM VERIZON TO ATT???????? SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

      3. Hwright says:

ugh…… thats all can Say this is what the republicans want JSTEELE working people fighting working people dont you see it???? Its a lose lose situation for us all……

      4. JP says:

If you would gladly pay for your benefits rather than having the company you work for pay them, then you are simply a moron.

You’ve proved your lack of intelligence on here throughout all of your messages with your inability to formulate a grammatically valid sentence, use proper punctuation, and spell beyond a fourth grade level.

You are simply a joke, and it is no wonder company’s walk all over their employees when people like you, malcontents who don’t have the ba!!s to take a stand, smile while their company strips them of their self worth. No, instead of fighting for your rights, you bash those who have something you don’t because you are a coward.

You are a pathetic excuse for the working class, as are the remaining morons who cluelessly throw statements around on subjuct matter they don’t actually have a clue about and can’t spell half of the words they’ve attempted to use.

  7. JP says:

Not sure where Don got HIS info, but no Verizon associate or union employee receives a 75K salary

    1. yamahasax269 says:

Um… I don’t know where you get your information… my dad has been management for over 30+ years at gte/verizon… and his union workers with overtime make way over 75k a year…

      1. Anonymous says:

Um… I AM a Verizon union employee. I didn’t GET my info anywhere. I live it.

And oh, by the way, MY manager (perhaps he’s your dad) falls asleep at his desk on a daily basis. Might I also add, managers do not see any employees paycheck other than his or her own.

YOU, like so many others on here, are misinformed.

  8. Scott CWA Worker says:

Robert Manginon, shame on you for how you conducted this interview. You did not research this issue and you talked down and over a knowledgable woman who had you given the opportunity to speak would have told you the basics of the strike and why it is happening. You made up your mind before you even spoke to her. Honestly, I would have hung up on you had you spoken to me that way. The facts are wireline is copper and FIOS, copper is declining, FIOS is profitable. Yes people are cutting the cord but more people are signing up for internet and TV, The profits aren’t just from wireless. The concessions the company wants are between 10-20k a year per employee. They aren’t going to hire more employees with that cost savings. The cost of healthcare for 2010 went up 2.3%. Thats a fast fact on their website. What they are asking the majority of the “Wireline” employees is to concede on is not just monetary. These changes will not improve customer service or lower anyones bills. The protections within the contract are more important then the money. Striking costs the company between 1 and 2 million dollars daily plus the bad press doesn’t help their bottom line. They are trying to cut $1 billion dollars from this half. And when it comes time for the rest, well you get the idea. The CEO makes more in 1 day then most employees make in 1 year (minus benefits) $55,000. I could go on, but I think it would be in your best interest to go to http://www.cwa-union.org and read up on the matter. A good interviewer knows how to stay neutral and play devils advocate. You should consider your actions and call Ms. Krueger and apologize. KDKA, this man needs to take a pay cut and pay a higher amount for his benefits. Especially since his product doesn’t make much money for you. Since past performance means nothing to him, it should mean nothing to you come time to negotiate his salary.

    1. Anonymous says:

Well said Scott!!! I am not a Verizon employee and I am NOT in a union, and I think that it is totally nuts what Verizon wants to take and it is even more nuts that none of the news media is giving the public any information about how much profit Verizon makes …… AFTER managements millions of dollars in salaries!!

    2. MALAD says:

YOU GO SCOTT. THAT INTERVIEW WAS TERRIBLE. HE DOESN’T INVESTAGATE. ANYTHING JUST RUNS HIS MOUTH’ BE STRONG.HANG IN THERE WE SHOULD TELL HIM HOW MUCH THE NEW CEO GETS PAID.MAYBE EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT.?KEEP STRONG TELL HIM TO GO CLIMB A POLE OR GET ON A LIFT DURING A SNOW STORM.. THEN LET’S SEE WHAT HE SAYS. GOD BLESS.

    3. Unionworker says:

I know Marge Krueger and she is a two face liar. She fires union workers with behind the back tactics. I am a union worker and back your strike. Watch your back around this person.

    4. Gary says:

Hip, Hip Hoo-Rah! Well said sir!

  9. hwright says:

This interview is Proof that the NEWS is controlled by Big Corporations and does not give a BIASED outlook on anything and is completly controlled by the RICH……. KDKA its time to support the people that watch your news.. Take you Poltical views elsewhere….. Sirius/XM P.O.T.U.S. 124 Gives non biased news based on PURE FACTS….

  10. JSTEELE says:

      at&t CWA District 9 member

    3. VerizonSuperTech says:

Can you read? Buy not by. You are. Or you’re dumb not your dumb
The strike is not about a pay raise so reread the story and work on your reading comprehension skills..
      Sincerely,
      Your dumb union worker

      1. VerizonSuperTech says:

Obviously English isn’t JSteele’s strong point but from that point on it’s all down hill.

  11. CWASPIRIT says:

A WORD TO MR ROBERT MANGINON;;;;; WERE DID U LEARN TO DO YOUR INTERVIEWS YOU NEVER LET MS.KRUEGE FINISH TALKING, OR FINISH WHAT SHE WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO U..YOU SHOULD BRUSH UP ON FACTS AND THERE ARE DIFINITELY FACTS. I AM NOT AN EMPLOYEEI AM A WIDOW WHOSE HUSBAND WAS ASSIGNED TO YOUR TV AND RADIO STATION.WHEN U HAD ANY PROBLEMS. MANY TIMES CAME IN AFTER WORKING IF CALLED .HE NEVER GOT TO ENJOY ALL OF HIS RETIREMENT ,HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNICATIONS OF AMERICA UNION AND PROUD OF IT..MAYBE YOU OUGHT TO TALK TO A FEW EMPLOYEES WHO ARE STRUGGLING, AND DO NOT WANT TOLOSE THERE JOB IF LAID OFF, THUS ENTERING THE UNEMPLOYMENT LINE.YOUR BOSS SHOULD REVIEW YOUR INF BEFORE U MAKE STATEMENTS LIKE U DID TO MS KRUEGER.

  12. Jim says:

It is always interesting to see people make a comment and have no clue what the Verizon employee makes, has as a benefit package, or the daily harassment they receive from management(most of how have no college degree). All I say is get your facts straight. A retired employee.
