WVU Coach Holgorsen Excited To Be Back On Practice Field

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- West Virginia head football coach Dana Holgorsen joined the Vinnie and Cook show on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan to discuss the opening of training camp for his West Virginia University football team and the challenges that the Mountaineers will face this season.

Holgorsen offers up a glimpse at his offensive philosophy and what he expects from quarterback Geno Smith in his second year as the starter.

He likes what he has seen thus far from Smith, most notably his eagerness to learn and embrace a new offensive system.

The first year head coach also touches on some of the off-field issues that he's had to deal with since he was hired in Morgantown.

West Virginia was picked as the pre-season No. 1 in the Big East, and Holgorsen doesn't mind the pressure.  He gives us his thoughts on WVU's rivalry with Pitt and Todd Graham as well.
