Car Burglaries Probed In North Sewickley Twp.

NORTH SEWICKLEY TWP. (KDKA) -- As many as two dozen cars have been broken into the past couple of days in Beaver County.

Police say there were no reports of car windows broken, or tires slashed.

Michael Andrews, who moved to North Sewickley Township from San Diego, Calif., a few months ago told KDKA-TV that two cars parked in his driveway this weekend were burglarized.

An iPod was stolen from one car and a pair of gold earrings from another.

Another car owner, Mike Leopardo, says he went to bed the other night and left his car doors unlocked. When he awoke the next morning, the driver's door was slightly ajar and his wallet was taken from the glove compartment.

Leopardo told KDKA-TV that his car was a mess.

"It looked like animals had gone through it," he said.

North Sewickley Police say they have a few leads, but no arrests. They remind people to lock their cars where ever and whenever they park them.
