Former Steelers GM Tom Donahoe Talks Steelers Preseason Football

PITTSBURGH (SportsRadio 93-7 The FAN) -- Former Steelers GM Tom Donahoe gave a preview of the upcoming Steelers season.

Tom Donahoe talked about the value of preseason football in terms of the young guys out to showcase themselves.  He said this year it is especially important for coaches to evaluate players in live-action situations since the only time they had together was during training camp.

Donahoe talked about Cotchery joining the roster and said he is a good veteran presence and as a possession guy, he will be a contributor to the Steelers offense.

The former GM said the corner position is a bit of a concern as any successful team has 4-5 corners whereas the Steelers can really only rely on Taylor, Gay, and McFadden.

Donahoe ended the conversation talking about Polamalu's presence on the field and how the defense plays on a whole other level when #43 is playing.  He briefly touches on the supplemental draft and says he would not go after Terrell Pryor.
