Isles To Host Watch-Party Of 'Brawl' Against Pens

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One Atlantic Division rival is looking to get fans excited for the upcoming season.

According to a report on The Sporting News' website, the New York Islanders will be sponsoring an event for fans to gather and watch the infamous fight-filled game against the Penguins.

While the Islanders won the Feb. 11 game 9-3, fans will remember this affair for the 346 penalty minutes, 15 fighting majors, 10 ejections and 20 misconducts that were assessed in the game.

During the game, Trevor Gillies elbowed Eric Tangradi in the head, which resulted in a concussion for the Penguins' prospect. Gillies also appeared to taunt Tangradi from the tunnel to the locker room.

He was suspended for nine games for his actions. Matt Martin was given a four-game ban for attacking Max Talbot from the blind side as well.

Eric Godard received a 10-game suspension for coming off the bench as Micheal Haley attempted to engage Brent Johnson in a fight.

MSG-Plus will re-air the game on Aug. 19. The Islanders have asked fans to gather at a local restaurant to celebrate.
