SWAT Team Called To Crafton Home

CRAFTON (KDKA) - The Allegheny County SWAT team was called to a home in Crafton early Monday morning.

Police surrounded the home on Mueller Avenue around 6 a.m.

"We were here earlier in the morning on an incident at the house up here on Mueller Avenue. We had knowledge that the City of Pittsburgh has a warrant for an individual," Crafton Police Chief Mark Sumpter said.

That individual is 37-year-old L.G. Wilson.

Wilson is wanted in connection with a shooting at a Fineview playground on Friday, which left a woman critically injured.

"Two juveniles that lived there, another juvenile that was visiting there. They're are out of the house. Our concern was that the juveniles were removed from the house before county SWAT goes in," Sumpter said.

At 9:30 a.m. SWAT officers moved in. Hours passed and flash-bang grenades were launched into the home.

However, when the all clear was given, Wilson was long gone.

"After the county SWAT team came and did and interior check of the building, there was nobody," Sumpter said.

Wilson remains on the loose and anyone with information is asked to call police.
