Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The kickoff time for the Pitt/Notre Dame football game has been announced.

The Sept. 24 Pitt-Notre Dame game at Heinz Field will kick off at noon and be nationally televised by either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2, the Big East Conference has announced.

The 2011 encounter will mark the 67th game between the Panthers and Irish in a series that dates back to 1909. In the most recent meeting, Notre Dame defeated Pitt, 23-17, last year in South Bend.

First-year Pitt coach Todd Graham is not unfamiliar with the Irish. One of Graham’s signature wins as a head coach occurred last season when his Tulsa team defeated host Notre Dame, 28-27. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit called it the biggest upset of the 2010 college football season and honored Graham with a “Herbie Award.”
