Sunseri Named To Manning Award List
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pitt junior quarterback Tino Sunseri has been named to the 31-player preseason watch list for the Manning Award, annually presented to the country's top collegiate quarterback.
It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. The winner is selected following the bowls in January.
Last season, Sunseri connected on 65% of his passes (223 of 346) for 2,572 yards and 16 touchdowns against 9 interceptions.
This past summer, Sunseri spent a week in Louisiana as a coach at the Manning Passing Academy.
This is the second national quarterback award to name Sunseri to its preseason watch list. Previously, he was named a candidate for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.
