Bouchette Talks Sweed, Heyward & Updates Ward's Health

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ed Bouchette joined the Vinnie and Cook show on SportsRadio 93-7 The Fan to discuss all things Steelers.

Bouchette thinks former Steeler Limas Sweed is probably the biggest bust in recent Steelers memory. He offers some insight on potential reasons why Sweed was never able to put it all together at the next level.

The Steelers signed a couple veteran defensive backs in Macho Harris and Kevin Dockery, and Bouchette gives his thoughts on whether these two have a future with the team or if they've just been signed to shore up secondary depth for the preseason.

Bouchette tells us if there are any undrafted rookie free agents that might have an outside shot at making the team based on strong performances at training camp.

Speaking of rookies, first rounder Cameron Heyward has reportedly been getting into small scuffles with offensive lineman in Latrobe. Bouchette talks about his mean streak and the promise that the defensive end has shown thus far.

Lastly, Bouchette gives the low down on Aaron Smith's latest injury, the back-up and third-string quarterback competition, and the outlook on Hines Ward from a health standpoint.
