Steelers Waive Limas Sweed

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- The Steelers patience with Limas Sweed ended today when the team placed him waivers.

The former 2008 second round had two major problems during his time with the Steelers: 1) staying healthy 2) catching the football.

Sweed caught only seven passes for 69 yards in two seasons with the Steelers. He did not play last season because of an Achilles injury

In other roster moves, the Steelers announced today the signing of DB Kevin Dockery and DB Macho Harris.

Dockery, a six-year veteran, comes to the Steelers after spending four years with the New York Giants (2006-2009) and one year with the St. Louis Rams (2010). Dockery has played in 61 games with 11 starts. He has four career interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Harris, a third-year player, comes to the Steelers after spending one season with the Philadelphia Eagles (2009) and one with the Washington Redskins (2010).

They also waived TE Eugene Bright from their PUP List.
