Westmoreland County Air Show Returns

LATROBE (KDKA) -- Planes from all over the country are descending on Latrobe for the Westmoreland County Air Show.

More than a half dozen performing planes will take to the skies. Spirit Airlines will take center stage when a 150-passenger flight from Myrtle Beach lands mid-show.

This is the first Westmoreland County Air Show since before Sept. 11, 2001 and organizers say it was time to bring it back.

The featured act will be Red Star and The Dragon.

Andy Whitesnake Anderson and his partner in crime traveled all the way from Tennessee to wow the crowd with their dogfighting and aerobatics.

KDKA-TV's Trina Orlando got to take a ride on The Dragon and went through some basic aerobatic maneuvers.

The show runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.

Tickets are available in advance at any Shop 'N Save or at the gate.
