Man Dies After Falling 4 Stories In Franklin Park
FRANKLIN PARK (KDKA) -- Office workers at a Franklin Park office complex were in shock as they watched a man fall more than three stories to his death.
Stephen Willoughby, 48, of Zelionople, worked for Roach Brothers Painting and Wallcoverings.
He was part of a crew cleaning windows at the Blaymore Two building.
He had just stepped off a lift and onto a third-story sub-roof when he lost his footing.
Witness Pat Stewart told KDKA's Kym Gable he saw Willoughby fall from his window. He ran to help and summoned aid from a cosmetic surgery team in the complex.
"We ran and got their medical team and they immediately ran out and there was a whole team of them trying to bring him back to life," he said. "Paramedics got here literally within four or five minutes and all the efforts of these people – they couldn't save him."
Witnesses say he was not wearing a safety harness. Franklin Park police are investigating. They've notified OSHA.
