Fayette Co. Store Robbed At Gunpoint

HENRY CLAY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – An armed robbery at a Fayette County sport shop is under investigation.

According to State Police, the incident happened at the Akshar Gas and Yough Lake Sport Shop in the 5300-block of National Pike in Markleysburg, Henry Clay Township.

The suspect entered the store Saturday night around 9 p.m. wearing a ski/hunting mask, light blue hooded-sweatshirt and jeans.

He approached the register and brandished a silver handgun. After ejecting a live round of ammunition, he demanded all the money from the register.

The suspect fled the scene on foot. The Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Unit conducted a search of a wooded area nearby, but was unable to locate him.
