Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The next time Steeler fans will see Ben Roethlisberger will be on September 11th vs. the Baltimore Ravens.

Head coach Mike Tomlin announced today that Roethlisberger won’t dress Thursday vs. the Carolina Panthers.

Veteran Charlie Batch will get the start which likely means he’ll start the season as Roethlisberger’s backup.

Also declared out for the exhibition finale are cornerback Ike Taylor, wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and rookie linebacker Chris Carter.

Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports safety Troy Polamalu, linebacker James Farrior, nose tackle Casey Hampton, center Maurkice Pouncey and cornerback Bryant McFadden are also likely to not play.

Thursday’s game at Carolina can be seen on KDKA-TV with kickoff set for 8 pm.

The next time Steelers fans will see Ben Roethlisberger will be on September 11 vs the Baltimore Ravens, unless they happen to be a young, drunk, female college student in a bar, then the chances of seeing him before that, go way up.

In case you didn’t know it Ben got married to Ashley Harlan on July 23, 2011. I say the chances of Ben doing wrong anytime soon are not that high. I think Ben has grown up alot in the past year and a half and has moved on from his wicked past. Just Saying. At least he appears to be trying so PLEASE give him the chance. None of us are perfect. Even Romans 3:23 says..For All Have Sinned and Fell Short of the Glory of God.

This may all be true, but you need to remember that what you see and read is what Ben and the media want you to believe. I hope you are right, but I’m becoming tired of Steeler fans and the media portraying him as a saint when I highly doubt that’s the case.
