PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — They each outwitted, outplayed and outlasted the competition on “Survivor.”
Now, Bridgeville native Jenna Morasca, and her boyfriend, Ethan Zohn, are getting ready to take on “The Amazing Race.”
Morasca won “Survivor: The Amazon.” Zohn won “Survivor: Africa.”
But now, they’ll be competing against 10 other teams on the new season of “The Amazing Race” – racing throughout Belgium, Denmark, Malawi and Indonesia.
For Zohn, it really will be an amazing race. This time last year, he was still recovering from a rare form of cancer. In April 2009, he was diagnosed with CD20 positive Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
When three months of intensive chemo didn’t work, he went through 25 days of radiation and then had a stem cell transplant.
Morasca was by his side every step of the way.
Zohn’s been in remission for more than a year now, and both are ready for a new challenge.
Among their competitors on “The Amazing Race” – former NFL player Marcus Pollard and his wife, two Olympic snowboarders and Zac Sunderland, who at 16 became the youngest person to sail around the world solo. He’ll play the game with his dad.
This won’t be the first time two former “Survivor” contestants have been on “The Amazing Race.”
Another local “Survivor” winner, Amber Brkich of Beaver, and her husband “Boston Rob” Mariano have played twice and lost both times.
