Pirates Trade Diaz To Atlanta

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates were buyers at the trade deadline, but they became sellers on Wednesday.

According to the Pirates, Matt Diaz was traded to the Atlanta Braves for a player to be named or cash considerations.

Diaz returns to the Braves after signing with the Pirates as a free agent in December.

In 100 games with the Pirates, Diaz batted .259 with 19 RBIs.

Diaz, a six-year veteran, spent his first five seasons with the Braves.

Atlanta currently holds an 8.5 game lead over the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Wild Card race.

Bucky…where are you? It is still hot outside, yet the Pirates aren’t. Nice of KDKA to delete my previous comment.
