Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Neal Huntington and the Pirates have made a minor deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com is reporting that the Pirates have traded Indianapolis 1B/OF John Bowker to the Phillies. It’s not known yet what the Pirates are getting in return.

The 28-year old Bowker was having a solid season with AAA Indianapolis, where he was batting .308 with 15 HRs and 76 RBI in 105 games.

Bowker will immediately join the Phillies and be used as a left-handed bat coming off the bench.

Bowker has played parts of four seasons in the majors with San Francisco and the Pirates and has hit 17 homers in 561 at-bats.
