Zambelli To 'Light The River' After Pitt-Buffalo Game

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Zambelli is famous for its fireworks, but this weekend they're adding something different to the mix.

The company plans to "Light The River" after Pitt's game against Buffalo at Heinz Field.

"We have not found another event this size that's ever been done," Doug Taylor, Zambelli's chief executive officer, said.

Organizers plan to not only light the sky with fireworks, but turn the Allegheny River into a fire show.

"We're going to have flames that vary from a few feet high to in excess of 100-feet high," Taylor said. "And if you're standing over on the shore over there, you'll be able to feel the heat."

And if a city with a river catching fire sounds familiar, don't worry, this is different.

"We're not poking fun at Cleveland, are we?" Jim Lokay asked.

"We're not going to talk about that one," Taylor joked. "We meant to do it, you know, they didn't."
