PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) — The Pirates’ skid continued as they lost 6-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday at PNC Park.

They drop to 62-75.

Brad Lincoln (1-1, 3.64 ERA) gave up three runs and six hits over six innings.

Jason Grilli also gave up a run along with Chris Resop who was charged with two runs.

The Pirates’ bats came alive in the ninth-inning rally, but came up short.

Alex Presley hit a two-run homer before Neil Walker’s sacrifice fly.

Josh Harrison and Brandon Wood both struck out.

Dana Eveland (1-0) gave up one run and six hits in his first major league game since he pitched 2 2-3 innings for Pittsburgh at Texas on June 23, 2010.

The journeyman left-hander was promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque before the game.

Eveland struck out three, walked none and retired 11 in a row after giving up consecutive singles to start the second inning.

Dee Gordon hit a two-run double and Aaron Miles had a two-run single to send Pittsburgh to its fifth straight loss and seventh in the last eight games. Gordon was activated off the DL earlier Thursday.
