Labor Day Weekend Packed With Events

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Labor Day weekend is here and if you're staying in town, there's plenty to do.

The Coors Light Kickoff and Rib Fest is back on the North Shore until Sept. 5.

Plenty of mouths were watering on Friday.

"They're so good," an attendee said. "It's my third year coming here and I go to the same place every time."

On Saturday, the Pitt Panthers begin their new season at Heinz Field. Afterward, Zambelli will "Light The River."

At the First Niagara Pavillion, Toby Keith is performing Saturday.

Next door at Stage AE Friday night, you can't do better than The Clarks. And on Labor Day, Brett Michaels performs.

Sunday, you can work off the ribs at the Gatorade Steelers 5K Race and Fitness Walk.

At Hartwood Acres, Rusted Root will take the stage.

If you're still hungry, there's the South Park Ribs and Wing Challenge.

"It's very a rare opportunity to get all these people here – world-class cookers – and we're here in your community," an organizer said.

And of course, the Labor Day Parade at 10 a.m. in downtown.
