Firefighters Battle Flames, Heat In Brackenridge

BRACKENRIDGE (KDKA) — The hot temperatures proved to be a challenge for firefighters Saturday afternoon when flames broke out at a home in Brackenridge.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. in the 1000-block of 3rd Avenue.

Officials say firefighters had to be rotated every 15 minutes to avoid heat exhaustion.

According to authorities, the fire may have started in the kitchen.

The home suffered both water and smoke damage.

No injuries were reported.

I was in the pool & I saw it. I live right by the old pioneer hose that got taken down. Firefighters had trouble getting in through the top & I did see them rotating. I saw the guy get out. Thank god everyone was ok🙂
