Man Struck By Bus On North Side

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 53-year-old man was hurt when he was struck by a Port Authority bus on Pittsburgh's North Side.

According to emergency officials, it happened in the 200-block of Sandusky Street around 5:30 p.m.

So far, there is no word on the man's condition but officials say he was awake when paramedics arrived at the scene.

He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officials at the scene say he was hit when he stepped off of the curb.

Pittsburgh police and Port Authority police were also called to the scene.

The impact caused the windshield of the bus to crack.
