1 Dead, 1 Injured In Penn Township Accident

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person is dead and another person was injured in a violent accident Sunday evening in Westmoreland County.

The crash forced the Paintertown Volunteer Fire Department to close down Government Road in Penn Township late into the night.

KDKA's Kym Gable reports from the scene that police sources close to the investigation say one man is confirmed dead. At least one other person was injured.

Authorities say a vehicle struck a parked car just after 8 p.m. and the impact caused one person to become pinned either inside or underneath the vehicle.

Another person was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, officials said.

Officials have not yet identified the victim.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office was called to the scene.
