Former Steeler Faneca Discusses Colon's Injury

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- With the news of Steelers Lineman, Willie Colon being injured and expected to miss the rest of the 2011 season, The Fan Morning Show talked to future hall-of-famer Alan Faneca.

While Steelers fans might love the idea of seeing Faneca back in the black and gold again, Faneca said he's content with his retirement and will not consider returning to the NFL.

Faneca talked with The Fan about what it's like for linemen to deal with injuries to their teammates and having to shuffle positions and work with new players. He recalls a game in Denver when injuries forced him to play tackle, and have different players in on every down.

Many people expect Faneca to be a first-ballot hall-of-famer, but he is modest saying that he will just "let the chips fall where they fall." However, he believes that this should be the year for former Steelers Offensive Linemen, Dermontti Dawson to be accepted into the Hall.

The Steelers play the Seahawks this weekend with the same officiating crew that worked Super Bowl 40, and Faneca has some fun remembering the comments that Seahawks fans made following the Super Bowl.
