Police Arrest 1 Suspect In S. Side Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police arrested a Wilkinsburg man this morning following an apparent attempted robbery and shooting overnight on Pittsburgh's South Side; but authorities are looking for two other suspects.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on Jane Street between 18th and 19th Streets.

Police arrested Marlon Spencer, 19, of Wilkinsburg in connection with the incident. He is facing a list of charges including one count of criminal attempted homicide, two counts of robbery, one count of aggravated assault and one conspiracy charge.

According to investigators, the suspects reportedly approached the victim and demanded he hand over what he had. When he didn't have anything, officials say he was shot.

The victim was wounded in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital where he was reportedly listed in stable condition.

Police found two masks that they believe the suspects might wore during the incident. Some elementary school students found a weapon that may have been used in the shooting just a few blocks away.

A witness was also brought into police headquarters to be interviewed around 4 a.m.
