It’s drug violence not gun violence. If they didn’t have a gun they would use machetes

Can someone please tell me how in the world anyone of these people are “Experts”?

  • genomega

This has nothing to do with guns: Gang thugs will kill with whatever they have at hand, knife, baseball bat, crowbar, etc. These leftists morons that blame guns for their pets violent lifestyle are in denial of the facts.

  • NorthSideWanksta

The solution to this is simple… it’s the same reason Sheraden is overrun with skunks. No one wants to say it though because it’s a “cultural thang…” And after listening to that show, people really need to stop pretending that someone making a few hundred a day is suddenly going to give up a lucrative lifestyle so they can go make minimum wage. Education… Jobs… blah blah blah… Crack is cheaper and easier than education and has less federal income tax than a paycheck.

As for everyone else who says if they can’t get guns they’ll use something else. If their logic is flawed how else can you explain the rash of stabbings in the north side (one recently only a block away from the zone 1 police station.)

  • SpankyMaGoo

In a few years all the gun violence will move itself to Wilkinsburg, Penn Hills, and Monroeville so the city won’t have to worry about it. Why start a panic now other than Obammy is running for office again and we gotta stir the manure heap to keep the stench in the air?

  • Bob

Sorry, these goons are not experts in anything. Period. And in the interests of unbiased reporting, it would be nice, CBS, if you would also report on the Pro-2A side of this matter.

Gun crime can be reduced by encouraging law-abiding citizens to purchase firearms, apply for concealed carry permits, and exercise their 2A rights. Also it would help to get rid of all of the gangs and bad areas of the city such as Wilkinsburg, the Hill District, Garfield, Northview Heights, etc. Perhaps a stronger police presence in these areas?

It illegal to sell your gun to kids and pistols all need to registered

    • concern northside

from what I understand a private owner do not have to register a sell of a gun to another party.

      • JustSaying

That is 100 percent incorrect. You MUST do the transfer of ANY handgun in the presence of a person who holds a Federal Firearms Liscense. They, (the FFL holder), must follow current laws regarding any waiting periods, background checks, etc. This is how it is done, legally. Of course, criminals by definition don’t follow laws so the leagal transfer of a handgun is a moot point.

      • city cop

        wrong! thats illegal !

  • bob

Why does KDKA keep censoring my comments? I didn’t say anything offensive or use profanity. Sorry that my views aren’t aligned with the pinko commie media… CENSORSHIP IS WRONG!

  • steve

    • pghsuks

Yes and if you so much as say it on here, your comment will be deleted…how dare you tell someone they are wrong if they are a minority !

      • McKeesCrackRocks

They’re not wrong because they’re a minority, they’re wrong because they’re idiots. Sure there’s some overlapping of idiot & minority (percentages need not be mentioned….)

  • some gun laws

Normally you have to go through a gun store or someone with a FFL , and it’s against the law to sell a handgun to any person under 21 years of age.
The person(s) with the FFL is required to follow all federal and state laws when doing so,once the transfer is complete the private owner is no longer responsible after the transfer is complete.
Exceptions to those under 21 years of age to possess a handgun, are military personnel under the age 21.

  • SurroundedBy

Ummm… They did pass that law, a long damn time ago. Watch less TV, read moar…. PLEASE LAY OFF THE CAPS LOCK KEY WHEN SCREAMING AN UNINFORMED DEMAND! AND PUT ON SOME PANTS!!!

      Don’t forget your dictionary….

    • Mayor of GBD

1 – there is an “h” at the end of the word. you live there and still can’t spell.

2 – ALL handgun transactions, including the illegal “buy back programs”, require an FFL form be completed. Cash, trade, barter…it doesn’t matter, the forms are required by FEDERAL law.

3 – It is against the law for a person under the age of 18 to posses a handgun or use any firearm unless under the direct supervision of an adult.

  • Jefferson

Can I call you Jeff for short?

  • Thomas J Duttine

They can not NOT play the race card…Look at the complaining about the youth football. A BLACK police chief is trying to protect the kids from the savages in the neighborhood and it’s BECAUSE they’re black. Just follow the rules or be shut down. Simple!!

  • dr michael

We need to stand up and teach right and wrong. If there is a disagreement, then discuss the situation and resolve it. Then continue life in peace, as we are all brothers and sisters. The answer is in the Bible.

    • Mayor of GBD

tell all the Catholic kids that got moletsed what the bible did for them, Doc.

  • concern northside

You can hide behind a computer and used words! CHICKEN! HAHAHAHAHAH.

But serious I hope you not a boss in any company…. your dangerous, blacks wouldn’t have a chance working for you.

    • PaBowHunter

Your english is so bad that when I read it it makes me want to take a poo. Your words make me poop.

      • PaBowHunter

My comment was directed to “concern northside”. I mean C’Mon! You can’t even get the damn Screen name correct!
They’re called books. They’re not just for burning when Duquesne light turns off your electricity.

  • Paul

It’s hard to teach the Bible if you can’t read or if you are a child yourself having a child. The family unit is missing in most of the communities that encounter gun violence. When I say familly unit, I mean a working father and mother who reside in the same house with their children. Someone who sets a good example and is a good role model. This is what kids see, and this is who kids become. If they are raised with the teaching of God in their house, they will emulate this as they grow. If they are raised in a dysfunctional setting, chances are, they will just cotninue living the environment they have been taught.

  • Mayor of GBD

see ya northside! I’m in management and feel EXACTLY the same way. Diversity my ass, hire the most qualified individual for the job, not just someone who might get you by.
