Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Pittsburgh Pirates #1 pick Gerrit Cole will be making his professional debut in the next couple weeks.

The Pirates announced today that Cole will pitch in the upcoming Arizona Fall League.

For the last couple of weeks, Cole has been working out at the Pirates complex in Bradenton, Florida.

Cole is the third straight No. 1 pick to throw his first professional pitch in the AFL (Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper).

Other Pirate prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League will be LHP Nathan Baker, RHP Phil Irwin, RHP Mike Colla, INF Jarek Cunningham, INF Brock Holt and OF Robbie Grossman.
