Sex Offender Arrested Over Incident At Football Stadium
CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- A registered sex offender from Connellsville, Fayette County, has been arrested on a charge that he touched the private parts of a 12 year-old boy.
Police say it happened Friday night after a football game at Connellsville High School's Falcon Stadium.
Police say 45 year-old Anthony French was playing ball with some boys when he allegedly touched the juvenile.
Police Chief James Capitos says French is listed on the Megan's Law website after he pleaded guilty to a similar incident in 2004.
French lives near the football field, but Chief Capitos says that's not a violation of his probation.
When police went to arrest French, they say they made another discovery: the home had a horrible stench and feces and urine coating the floor.
They found dogs in cages, some of which were malnourished, according to Chief Capitos. He says one of them had to be put down, possibly more. He says there were also rats, mice, snakes and birds.
French is in the Fayette County Jail on a charge of indecent assault, but police say he will also face animal cruelty charges.
