UNITY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Two men said they were hired to cut down trees for an elderly woman, but instead they reportedly stole nearly $6,000 from her.

The elderly woman was standing in the backyard of her Unity Township home when she was approached by a man who claimed he was there to cut down trees belonging to her neighbor that had fallen on her property.

While one suspect kept the woman distracted, the other went inside and ransacked the house looking for cash.

The one suspect is described as being about 5-feet 10-inches tall in his late 20s to early 30s with short black hair and black-rimmed eyeglasses.

The suspects are driving a dark blue or black pickup truck. State police are now asking people across the area to be on the lookout.

If you think you have been targeted or if you see something suspicious, call State police in Greensburg.
