WAYNE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A 19-year-old man is dead following a violent accident in Lawrence County that officials believed happened overnight.
The crash happened on Wampum Road in Wayne Township along a bend known as the “horseshoe curve.”
Authorities say 19-year-old Zachary Samlut failed to negotiate the curve, and his car traveled off the roadway into a mailbox and then overturned.
When emergency crews got to the scene, the victim was reportedly trapped underneath his car near the railroad tracks.
The coroner was called to the scene this morning.
