WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – One person was killed in an early Sunday morning accident in Clarion County.

According to State Police, the accident happened on State Route 36 near Pine Hollow Road in Washington Township around 12:20 a.m.

A man lost control of his vehicle while driving through a right curve in the road and struck a road sign.

The vehicle continued for another 90 feet before coming to rest.

The driver has been identified as Eric Oakes, 44, of Rouseville.

He was pronounced dead at Clarion Hospital.
