Bill Cowher, Bettis, Dawson Named Hall Of Fame Nominees

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three former members of the Steelers organization have a shot at getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bill Cowher, Jerome Bettis and Dermontti Dawson are among the 103 "modern-day nominees," according to Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette.

This is the first year Cowher is eligible – five years after his 2006 departure as head coach of the Steelers.

The list of nominees will be trimmed to 25 in November – then 15 in January.

Last year, Bettis and Dawson were finalists.
