PITTSBURGH (SPORTSRADIO 93-7 THE FAN) — Eddie Olczyk joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller to take a look at the upcoming NHL season.

We kicked off the preview focusing on the Pens and how excited fans should be for the upcoming season.  Olczyk said the team’s success last year without Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin bodes well for how good they can be this year when Crosby is ready and they get both on the ice together again.

One major issue facing the Pens again this year is the performance of their power play, and Olczyk gave us some ideas on how to improve things including not keeping Crosby and Malkin out there for the entire two minutes, rather shortening their shifts to make sure they can go all out during that time.
