Officer Dragged On Brownsville Road

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A police officer was apparently dragged by a car in a Pittsburgh neighborhood.

Two state probation officers tried to serve warrant on a man who stopped in the 400-block of Brownsville Road.

When officers approached the driver's side of the suspect's vehicle, there was a confrontation. One of them tried to use a taser.

When that happened, witnesses say the man drove away with the officer's arm still in the car, dragging him a few feet and hitting several parked vehicles. That's when the officer's partner fired four or five shots.

Witnesses say a woman was also in the car.

Once the officer got his arm out of the car, the suspect drove off and led police on a chase down to Merit Avenue in Brentwood where he was arrested.

He is now in the Allegheny County Jail.

The suspect's name has not been released.
