JEANNETTE (KDKA) — A fire sent crews to the abandoned Monsour Medical Center in Jeannette early this morning.

Several fire departments from Westmoreland County responded to the scene including Jeannette, Greensburg, Grapeville, Harrison City North Hempfield and Irwin.

The fire was reportedly contained to the upper floors.

There is no word on what sparked the fire or the extent of the damage.

Monsour was closed in March of 2006.

Back in July, crews battled a fire on the fifth floor of the building. The blaze was found in an old waiting room and spread into a nearby hallway before firefighters got the flames under control.
