Report: Paul Maholm To Become Free Agent

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Paul Maholm could be wearing a different uniform next spring.

The Tribune-Review is reporting the Pirates will not pick up the 29-year-old left-handed pitcher’s $9.75 million contract option for next year.

Maholm reportedly wants to see what kind of offers he could get from other teams. The Trib also reports Mahlom and his agent have put the brakes on talks with the Pirates.

The Pirates have not commented on this development.

Nutting is the worst owner in the history of sports.

very true, but any moron could have brought out this news

This is the best news for the Pirates. Signing this bum for anywhere near the 9 million he was suppose to make next season would have been beyond stupid. Now it is time to take that money and put it toward a number one or two pitcher in the rotation or maybe even a big bat.
