NBC/Versus Analyst Impressed By James Neal, Bored By Sidney Crosby

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — NBC and Versus Hockey Analyst Jeremy Roenick joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller to talk everything Pens.

Pens winger James Neal has gotten off to a hot start, and Roenick said he has been really impressed with Neal, and if he was Penguins General Manager Ray Shero, he would approach him right now to lock him up long-term.

We also discussed the Kris Letang suspension, another questionable hit last night in the game between Boston and Carolina, and Roenick’s take on the job Brendan Shanahan is doing.

Jeremy made some comments recently about getting sick of the constant updates we got on Sidney Crosby, even if there was no real update, and clarified the comments he made.

One thing Jeremy doesn’t necessarily enjoy is Sidney Crosby interviews, which he said are boring to him.

  1. Travis Whalen says:

It’s a shame that Sidney Crosby can’t live up to the standards that Jeremy Roenick has set. This is an absolute joke on Roenick’s part. Sid, who quite possibly is the best ambassador or any given sport in North America, has done nothing to draw attention to himself during this. Instead, he retreated to Nova Scotia all summer, to stay out of the media’s spot light. The media in the NHL is to blame for ‘too much attention’ to Sid. Jeremy. if you’re so irritated with Sid getting all the attention, why bring it up AGAIN by complaining about it?

  2. Paul says:

Sounds like sour grapes to me! What’s the matter Jeremy – jealous of a real hockey player!
