Suspects In Fatal Clairton Shooting Arrested

CLAIRTON (KDKA) -- Two men wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Clairton have been arrested.

Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said 25-year-old Gary Smith and 19-year-old Eugene McMiller were arrested at a home in Clairton Wednesday evening.

Smith and McMiller were wanted in the shooting death of Justin Charles.

According to the criminal complaint, police say that the victim brought Smith and McMiller to a home on Miles Avenue on Friday.

A short time later - after leaving the home - authorities say all three returned and got into an argument. Investigators say witnesses reported hearing several shots fired as the victim ran downstairs and collapsed just outside the home. The suspects then got away.

Police went to Smith's home on Tuesday, but he ran off.

McMiller and Smith were being held in the Allegheny County Jail while they awaited arraignment late Wednesday night.

Police say the charges against the pair include criminal homicide, robbery, recklessly endangering another person and conspiracy.
